Howard Stern Warned Conan About Leno in 2006

Wow. All the way back in 2006 the King of All Media himself, Howard Stern, actually warned Conan O'Brien that Jay Leno wouldn't just hand over the Tonight Show easily. Don't believe me? Check this out:

Funny and sad... all at the same time!

It's Official (Apparently)

Jay is back at the Tonight Show at 11:35pm. Conan is kicked to the curb. May the NBC execs reap their just rewards...

Jeff Zucker = A-Hole!

Wow. I've been trying to hold off judgment on NBC chief Jeff Zucker, mainly because I don't trust the rumors floating around on the interwebs. But I'm quickly coming to the conclusion that he's a Grade A a$$hole. The latest supporting evidence:

ZUCKER THREATENS TO ICE CONAN! Says "I'll Keep You Off The Air For 3 1/2 Years"

If even a quarter of this is true Zucker should be fired really, really soon...

BIG $$$ Coming Conan's Way

Well here's something that makes me feel a little better for my favorite late night talk show host...

According to some industry "insiders" Conan O'Brien stands to get a $25 to $50 million dollar payday if NBC replaces him. Dang... that's not a bad chunk of change! Plus, he'll definitely get another great deal to do a show on another network like FOX or maybe even HBO.

And one more thing... millions of long-time Conan fans like myself have had their love for Conan "re-invigorated"... which means we'll be doing everything we can to make sure his next project is a MEGA-SUCCESS!

Late Night Trainwreck = More Viewers

Well this doesn't surprise me at all:

On Tuesday Night, More Viewers for Leno and O’Brien

I have a sneaking suspicion that both shows' ratings are going to jump through the roof for the next couple of weeks!

About

Here's a little bit about me and why I started the "Conan Vs. Jay" blog...

I started watching Jay Leno's Tonight Show in the mid-90's, mainly because my parents loved his monologues and the old Monday night "Headlines" bit. Jay's a talented comedian and the show certainly provided some laughs. But then, when I was in college in the late-90's, I discovered Conan O'Brien's "Late Night" show and I was amazed. It was freaking hilarious! My friends and I would watch it several nights a week and laugh our asses off. It was the perfect stress reliever and, in combination with lots of binge drinking sessions, helped us survive the hell that is Georgia Tech.

Fast-forward to today. Conan took over Jay's spot on "The Tonight Show" -- a move planned back in 2004 -- and Leno has his new show at 10pm. Everything seemed great. But it's all turned into a huge fiasco. It looks like NBC, and probably Jay Leno himself, are trying to stab Conan in the back and force him to actually leave the network. Un-freaking-believable!

So that's where things stand right now. I hope everything works out for the best for Conan and even for Leno as well. I couldn't care less about NBC. Stay tuned for more developments...

Conan Vs. Jay... Who Will Triumph??

Conan O'Brien, Jay Leno, and NBC are currently locked in a struggle of epic proportions. Who will win? I'm a huge fan of Conan but I'm also a fan of Jay (not really a fan of NBC at all, but whatever!). That's what led me to create this little blog. I plan to document the ongoing battle between the kings of late night television.

It should be interesting...
